How Does CAPTCHA Work on CharityEngine Forms?
All CharityEngine online forms use CAPTCHA v3 by default. CAPTCHA v3 provides advanced protection against spam and fraudulent submissions without disrupting the donor or registrant experience.
Unlike older CAPTCHA versions, CAPTCHA v3 works invisibly in the background—users are not asked to click a checkbox, solve a puzzle, or complete any additional steps. 
Why Is CAPTCHA Enabled by Default?
CAPTCHA v3 helps organizations:
- Protect online forms from spam and automated submissions
- Prevent malicious or fraudulent activity
- Maintain a seamless, low-friction experience for donors and supporters
Can CAPTCHA Be Disabled?
Organizations with Advanced Fraud Protection enabled may choose to disable CAPTCHA on individual forms; however, this is not recommended.
CAPTCHA plays an important role in protecting your forms from spam, automated submissions, and fraudulent activity. Disabling it may increase your risk of abuse, even when other fraud-prevention tools are enabled.
To disable CAPTCHA:
- Open the form you want to manage.
- Navigate to the Advanced tab.
- Go to Security > General.
- Toggle off Human Detection (CAPTCHA).
- Save your changes.
Do I Need to Configure CAPTCHA on My Forms?
No configuration is required.
CAPTCHA v3 is automatically applied to all new CharityEngine online forms, including donation forms, event registration forms, and other public-facing forms.
